As everyone knows, Ramona Quimby lives on Klickitat Street. The stories of her adventures begin in Beezus and Ramona, where Beezus, who is just turning ten, finds four-year-old Ramona an exasperating little sister! But since then, Beverly Cleary has written seven more books about Ramona, and she has grown up! This is the beginning of the latest book about Ramona, called Ramona's World.

Ramona Quimby was nine years old. She had brown hair, brown eyes, and no cavities. She had a mother, a father, a big sister named Beatrice who was called Beezus by the family, and - this was the exciting part - a baby sister named Roberta after her father, Robert Quimby.

This is also the beginning of Ramona's fourth grade, and she is sure that it's going to be "the best year of her life, so far". On the first day of school:

Ramona, neat and clean, with lunch bag in hand, half skipped, half hopped, scrunching through dry leaves on the sidewalk. She was early, she knew, but Ramona was the sort of girl who was always early because something might happen that she didn't want to miss.

And a lot does happen! Not everything is perfect. For example, Mrs. Quimby wants Ramona to spend more time with super-perfect Susan Kushner, and Mrs. Meacham wants Ramona to work on her spelling. Ramona doesn't want to do either of these things. So fourth grade life isn't always easy, but it's full of adventure!

As Susan says, "everybody likes Ramona!" Let's hope you do too!
